CERTIFIED PROFESSIONAL PHOTOGRAPHER

Lon Monahan passed his certification exam in 1996 and became the youngest certified professional photographer in the state.

Certified Professional Photographer is a designation granted by the Professional Photographic Certification Commission, the world’s leading certification agency of imaging professionals.

Those who have earned Certification have passed a comprehensive written examination measuring their technical expertise, and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for review and approval.

Every five years, a Certified photographer must renew his or her credentials by participating in continuing education programs and resubmitting images to be judged.. This helps assure you that Certified photographers maintain their level of expertise and continue to develop new skills and techniques.

MASTER OF PHOTOGRAPHY

Lon Monahan received his Master of Photography degree from the Professional Photographers of America in 2007.  In order to receive this prestigious honor and milestone, a photographer must display the highest standards in several key areas of the profession, which include, print competition, photographic instructional seminars, and continuing education programs.

PPA’s degree program has been offered to PPA members of all specialties since 1937. PPA degrees continue as the most prestigious sign of advanced education and service in the industry – a symbol of knowledge and quality to consumers and peers alike.
